Capital City

The capital of Vietnam is Hanoi is located on the Red River. This city is infused with elements of Southeast Asia, China, and France in the architecture and culture. Hanoi is known for the array of cuisine and a combination of a busy and calm atmosphere. The history of Hanoi is what attracts visitors, especially the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. The city is a huge metropolitan and political location. Most of the dynasties have left their impact on Hanoi. Vietnam travel would not be complete without a visit to this city!

Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam is also known as Saigon. It is known for its pivotal role in the Vietnam War from 1954 to 1975. Here, locals either walk or ride on motorbikes/scooters. Buses and taxis are also very popular among tourists. The locals love to indulge in the markets of Saigon. The Binh Tay Market and the Ben Thanh Market are the most popular markets, offering goods from clothing items to food. Some popular dishes in Vietnam include pho, bun cha, goi cuon, and banh mi. Be sure to give these cuisines a try during your visit to Saigon!

The Golden Bridge

The Golden Bridge, just outside of Da Nang, is a 492-feet-long pedestrian bridge that is held up by two large hand-shaped structures. Although the bridge opened in June of 2018 and is still fairly new, it has quickly grown in popularity. The scenic view from the Golden Bridge is breathtaking. This bridge is definitely a sight you don’t want to miss!

Sand Dunes

The trip to the sand dunes located in Mui Ne is not something you will want to pass up. The White Sand Dunes are great to visit especially during the sunrise. The sand dunes are expansive, and closely resemble a desert walk. You can also rent dune buggies to race across the sand dunes if you prefer to be more adventurous. The Red Sand Dunes are beautiful during sunset and offer gentle slopes to enjoy. The sand dunes can get quite hot during the day, so wear protective shoes!

Art Work or Crazy House? 

You won’t want to miss The Dalat Crazy House while in Vietnam. The house is a mixture of a little bit of everything, from geometrical to whimsical to colorful pieces of art. Architect Dang Viet Nga and local craftsmen created the house, which also doubles as a guesthouse. It is known as the Hang Nga Guesthouse. This odd building is nothing short of a work of art!

Vietnam has a lot of great sights to visit, amazing food, and a lot of adventures for you and your family to experience! From nature to sand dunes to zany artwork, Vietnam travel has something for everyone to enjoy. The rich culture and history of the country also allows history buffs to read up on their knowledge of Vietnam.
