We are!  Well, technically I’m not because I’d like it to just stay summer year round.  But some people are! I guess if it has to end, at least it’s time for some Husker football!  AurTravel is headed to Seattle for the Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Washington Huskies game to help cheer our team to victory. 

Seattle is one of my favorite cities to visit.  (I know I say every place is my favorite, but truly there is something to love about every place I’ve been)

Join me on a fun filled Pub Tour of Ireland. 

The Ireland Pub Tour is a trip we put together because we were looking for something different.  Many tours of Ireland spend a lot of time visiting the tourist sights; I wanted to visit an Ireland that I have dreamed of, the people, the pubs, and the golf courses.  Of course we filled the trip with some must sees and must dos (castles, cathedrals, and the famous Blarney Stone), but we have also left plenty of free time to enjoy the parts of Ireland you dream of, shopping, sightseeing, golf, or spending some quality pub time.  It’s up to you! 

Some of my favorite reasons for visiting Ireland include:

• The Irish love a good excuse for a party.  The country is legendary for its “craic” (good fun) and “fleadhs” (traditional music events).
• The Irish love traditions.  So much so, in fact, that that the country is full of them – from eating colcannon (a mixture of cabbage and mashed potatoes) on Halloween to wearing something green on St. Patrick’s Day.  I’m not sure where our love of green beer came from.
• Ah, the pub – the perfect blend of meeting the people of Ireland, enjoying traditional Irish music, delicious Irish food, or a quiet pint of Guiness by the Fire.  It’s up to you, it is your vacation!  Pubs are not just for drinking, though I probably will imbibe, they are a great way to meet people, listen to a poetry reading, or grab a bite to eat!  By the way, I’ve heard Guinness tastes better in Ireland!
• Golf.  Anyone who loves the game of golf has dreamed of golfing in Ireland!  The beautiful green courses and the thought of saying “Wow, I just golfed in Ireland!” appeals to many a golfer!
• Kiss the Blarney Stone.  According to legend whoever kisses the Blarney Stone is gifted with eloquence and persuasiveness.

• Rich history and architecture.  We will be visiting Blarney Castle, built over 600 years ago by one of Ireland’s great chieftains.  And visit Kylemore Abbey, built in 1867, surrounded by mountains and lakes, and steeped in history including engineering initiatives, model farms, tragedy, royal visits, gambling debts, and serving as a hideaway during Ireland’s troubled history.
• Irelands landscape.  Boasting over 40 shades of green we will be visiting Wicklow Mountains, Connemara Mountains, the Cliffs of Moher, and the Ring of Kerry.  Imagine a round of golf in the Ring of Kerry, or enjoying a horse drawn carriage ride in the mountains!

AurTravel’s Holiday Bowl tour is December 28 – 31 and includes round trip charter air from either Lincoln or Omaha.  The Omaha tour leaves at 12:35 p.m. on the 28th, getting into San Diego about 2:00 p.m.  It returns from San Diego at 3:20 p.m. getting people back into Omaha in time to ring in the New Year.  The flight is scheduled to return about 8:20 p.m.  The Lincoln flight departs on December 28th at 9:00 a.m. getting in to San Diego at around 10:30 a.m.  That flight departs San Diego on the 31st at 11:30 and gets to Lincoln at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Here is the scoop . . . if Nebraska wins the Big XII, we automatically get the bid for the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, Arizona where we will likely play Iowa or TCU.  Arizona in January, we all want to go! 

If we lose, it will likely be the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, California.  Either way you can win with AurTravel!  If Oregon loses Thursday night, they will go to the Holiday Bowl, but if they win we could play USC in the Holiday Bowl.  And it’s in San Diego, sun and fun in December.  Rumor has it that no matter what the Holiday Bowl has invited us to play.  They want Nebraska fans to visit San Diego! 

Either way, it’s sure to be a great bowl game whomever and wherever we play.  Of course this is all an educated guess.  Frank Murphy from EB Sports Tours is the expert who is helping us plan our bowl packages, he is also they guy in the know about who is playing where.
