The most notable differences to travelers will be:

• Hotels, exchange booths, and local banks will only be able to change a maximum of $1,500 USD cash per person per month into Mexican pesos. Previously there was no limit.
• Businesses (including restaurants, shops, and Destination Management Companies) will only be able to accept a maximum of $100 USD cash per transaction – but the number of transactions per customer is not restricted. Certain businesses may not be able to, or may choose not to accept American dollars for any purchases. They would still accept Mexican pesos.  For example, if a traveler wants to purchase an excursion that costs $150 US dollars per person, the traveler will only be able to pay $100 of this amount in USD cash and the remainder will need to be in another form of payment (credit card, pesos, etc).
• Airlines are advising they will only accept Mexican pesos and credit cards for any fees, including baggage fees.

Other payment methods such as credit cards of all types and all issuing banks, Travelers Checks, Mexican pesos, and non-American foreign currencies (such as euros or Canadian dollars) are not affected in any way by this new law.

About Kim Roche
Kim Roche serves as the Business Development Manager of AurTravel. Responsible for the development and growth of AurTravel’s corporate, incentive, and group travel business as well as marketing the services of the agency’s newest division, Amazing Honeymoons, Kim has over 23 years of experience in the travel industry, including 13 spent in sales and management capacities. Kim holds numerous designations and certifications, including Certified Travel Consultant (CTE), Certified Travel Industry Executive (CTIE), Western Europe Specialist, and Disney Specialist. She also volunteers as a mentor for Teammates, a program that partners adults with school-age children in order to help them reach their full potential.

Here is the scoop . . . if Nebraska wins the Big XII, we automatically get the bid for the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, Arizona where we will likely play Iowa or TCU.  Arizona in January, we all want to go! 

If we lose, it will likely be the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, California.  Either way you can win with AurTravel!  If Oregon loses Thursday night, they will go to the Holiday Bowl, but if they win we could play USC in the Holiday Bowl.  And it’s in San Diego, sun and fun in December.  Rumor has it that no matter what the Holiday Bowl has invited us to play.  They want Nebraska fans to visit San Diego! 

Either way, it’s sure to be a great bowl game whomever and wherever we play.  Of course this is all an educated guess.  Frank Murphy from EB Sports Tours is the expert who is helping us plan our bowl packages, he is also they guy in the know about who is playing where.
