Get your planners ready and mark the big sporting events coming up in 2018! Traveling to your favorite sporting event allows you to not only see the action up close but also to tour the destinations as well. Here are a few popular sporting events this year:
NCAA Men’s Final Four Basketball Tournament: March 31 and April 2
This year the tournament will be held in San Antonio, Texas in the Alamodome. You can catch the Midwest regional games of the NCAA tournament in Omaha at the CenturyLink before traveling to continue watching the excitement in Texas. Before and after the games you can venture off to some of the other great attractions in San Antonio: Six Flags Fiesta, Sea World, San Antonio Zoo, and the River Walk.
Ryder Cup: September 25-30
The Ryder cup will be held in France this year at Le Golf National on the Albatros course. This beautiful course is a 45 minute drive from Paris, allowing you to experience the sights and sounds of the city when you aren’t watching golf. Tickets are still available for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Kentucky Derby: May 5
Held every year in Louisville, Kentucky’s Churchill Downs track, this exciting horse racing event is also a historical event everyone should experience at least once in their life. From placing bets to dressing up to purely enjoying the sport of horse racing, there is something for everyone in your family.
Stanley Cup: June
Hockey is a very exciting sport that can get everyone drawn into the game. The Stanley Cup Championship game is the biggest hockey event in the country. This face paced, highly athletic, and physical game would be a great trip idea for any big sports fan.
A sport centered trip can include anything from a quick trip to catch just the event or a long weekend getaway where you visit local sites; we can personalize it however you like.
