Fabulous food is often what you remember when returning from a trip; let’s make food your main focus on your next vacation!
Philadelphia: The soft pretzels are to Philadelphia as crepes are to Paris. You can eat them on the go and they’re also inexpensive. Don’t forget the traditional experience of a mouth-watering cheesesteak. At Federal Donuts, scoring a donut here is a feat in and of itself. They have flavors like sea salt and chocolate, sticky bun, cookies and cream, gingerbread, strawberry lavender, vanilla spice, and “crumberry.”
New York: One of the most culturally diverse cities in the world, New York City really has it all when it comes to cuisine. New York’s classic foods include some of the following: bagels, corn beef and cabbage, black and white cookies, hotdogs, and pizza. No matter how many high-end restaurants exist in NYC, the Big Apple is still a hot dog town at heart.
Las Vegas: Las Vegas offers everything from comfort food to fine dining. Las Vegas is known for plentiful buffets, you will find one in just about every hotel on the main strip. Try the buffet at Bellagio’s for prime rib, even served at breakfast. Another big foodie draw is all of the celebrity, award-winning chefs that own restaurants in Las Vegas. Consider one of the best steakhouses in Vegas, Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant, CUT. Don’t forget your 99 cent shrimp cocktail at Four Queens hotel downtown.
Portland, OR: Start your day or end your night with a trip to VooDoo Doughnut open 24 hours a day. Enjoy anything from a bacon maple bar to a purple-licious grape ape doughnut. Portland is home to more than 600 affordable food carts dishing out everything from Porchetta sandwiches to goat cheese. Portland is known for olive oils that chefs compare to Italy’s liquid gold.
Houston: Houston offers a combination of refined taste to downhome comfort. Houston’s top foodie destination, Hugo’s, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering authentic Mexican cuisine. A must eat BBQ is at Killen’s, where the sides match the smoked meats.
